Want to help the world appreciate Southeast Asian cinema, while developing the talents of aspiring Lao filmmakers? Make a contribution to the Luang Prabang Film Festival, and we’ll do it for you.
While Lao people are active consumers of international media, Laos is relatively underdeveloped in terms of its own media industries. Lao people depend mostly on foreign entertainment across all platforms, and therefore lack their own national “voice.” Of all media arts, film offers the least representation, with just a handful of Lao works in existence.
Your donation to the festival can help us use film as a tool to increase media literacy in Laos, to give Lao people a voice, and to foster crucial dialogue between Southeast Asian media makers and audiences. Donations also help LPFF carry out educational projects, which provide young Lao people with opportunities to tell their unique stories through film.
If you’d like to make a US tax-deductible contribution, please click the button below to donate to LPFF through the 501(c)(3) Luang Prabang Fund for Culture and Conservation. Once the funds have been received, they will issue a formal receipt for the donation.
