Kongchan Phiennachit & Mitpasa Sitthihukpanya

In the horror short “The Witness,” producer Kongchan Phiennachit and director Mitpasa Sitthihukpanya explore consequences of witnessing domestic violence as a child. Inspired by a viral social media clip and set in present-day Laos, the film aims to question the role of memories, superstition, and fate in the actions that perpetuate violence.

Based in Luang Prabang, Laos, [Blue Chair] is a non-profit cultural organization committed to the celebration of Southeast Asian film, the growth of local and regional film industries, and the cultivation of regional audiences. We want to see a diversity of Southeast Asian stories told well and shared with the world.
