Tia Madre

Country:
Philippines
Director:
Eve Baswel
Running Time: 1h 21min
An engkanto is a (maybe) mythical spirit that has the ability to take human form. 10- year-old Camille’s mother appears to have survived a car accident and moves out to the country with Camille to recover and make a fresh start. Immediately, Camille begins noticing the change in her mother, as she begins drinking more and behaving erratically. Routines and everyday chores begin unraveling and very quickly Camille finds herself trapped in the unthinkable as she discovers the engkanto that has taken the place of mommy dearest.
