Kraben Rahu

Country:
Thailand
Director:
Phuttiphong Aroonpheng
Running Time: 1h 45min
"Manta Ray" is a story of lost identity, dedicated to the Rohingya, who have fled en masse into Thailand for decades as they escape state-sanctioned persecution in Myanmar. A fisherman who works hard and keeps his ear to the ground finds an injured stranger in the mangroves near his fishing village. He rescues the man and nurses him back to health. The men, both almost entirely muted, develop a deep bond as the fisherman draws the stranger back from the dead. When the fisherman suddenly disappears, the stranger takes over his life and the story begins to move in a distinctly different direction.
