A child’s point of view guides the viewer through Amit Dubey’s depiction of absence in “A Fallen Fruit,” in which dialogue is carefully distilled in an environment where nature is the centerpiece. The strong connection that exudes from the child’s silent encounters with his grandfather contrasts with the mundane dialogues between the parents, putting into question one’s views of absence and presence. Inside this fallen fruit is the silent beauty of an invisible knot tying Thy (the child) to his grandfather.
